Reinforcing the Practices

  Actually applying the practices into object studies enables each individual to adapt techniques in their own personal style. When works come in, it's very relevant which practices had the most meaning.

Below are some samples, each group a study on 9X12 drawing paper.

3 hues in crosshatch define the ink bottle; long to short shape following directional strokes sketch the tomato; linear patterns under a 2 layer candle lay crosshatch over a smooth blend; and varied pressured stipple texure the peach.

The rough metal pitcher is composed of 20 layers of brown, lt.blue and gray. A small setup of rocks in a yellow base layer, had gray, purple and brown overlaps. The plant has delicate, light invented hues in simple layer blends. The flower shows 2 layers overlaps with heavy pressure and stipple contrasts. The ceramic pot has "spot layers" of intermingling patches with brown as the shadow color.
