A nice aspect of this drawing is the combination of broken and singular lines. | No End To Ideas To me, the most important aspect of teaching is not the end result, but success in the process. And when the result has been achieved, I think it's important to stress that only 1 solution was attained. Each attempt at the same design could result in newer and different interpretations. With that in mind, this "contour to texture" idea developed. The simplicity and strength of a contour drawing could be "made new" with specific selections of areas in detailed color that would contrast against it and give colorful life to its spaces. Not wanting the drawing to end there, the idea of continuing/creating a background texture to interweave between shapes was another "made new" experience again. That would be perhaps the most difficult part to choose a textural aspect "belonging" to the
drawing and making its movement supportive. |
