REVERSE DRAWING: WHITE ON BLACK

Tonal values do not lose importance by reversing light and dark contrasts-white on black is just another way to express unique value relationships. Here are several methods of reversal images.
The left one is a simple contour in white India Ink.
The cub is an example of "negative" value. Switch the black and white areas and you'll have the drawing as it would appear on a white background.
The twirling girl was a white background image that was inked around the figure to suggest "positive/negative" rendering.
The dancer is a white ink and white charcoal contour and value drawing.
The helmet is a combination of white charcoal and white colored pencil.
  All sketches are 18"X24" formats.
