Grid Gains |
![]() Rendering Possibilities This example was sketched in class as a visual aid to demonstrate display options for student considerations. First: Background can be a dominant part of a composition influencing the distribution of color and values. Here, the grid was kept as a "changeover" tool effecting the way objects switched colors. Second: Transparency in overlapping object can be a strong visual interest. Opacity need not a constant attribute for all objects displayed. Third: Avoid total centering of objects. Extending shapes beyond border edges and slanted arrangements gives movement and direction. Last: Color and value repetition. The mixing and blending of hues in varied parts of the composition helps continue the flow of colors and is a uniting factor in the composition. What was their reaction? Well, they thought the sneaker and car were outdated.............. |
| Color and Grayscale | |
![]() I was surprised by the number of students who elected grayscale rendering. They varied from light and delicate as above and as you will seen in other drawings, to much stronger contrasts. Also, several renditions were a combination of both color and grayscale, as on the right. Vive le difference! | ![]() |
There are other drawing combinations to see in Applications 2, so please check them out! |
