windowtoart "Drawing": Parabolic Practices   Variations     Line   Drawing     Choices

PARABOLIC LINE IN SEVERAL WAYS

From "even" right angles (bottom left), we stretched the curve by having one axis (left, above) longer than the other. The same number of points are required on both axes, but the shorter line has smaller point space widths. The curve here stretches heightwise.

The other two shapes are variations of triangles, a most interesting form. Connecting only the two long sides (top right) effects a sharp pointed "claw". Even the equilateral triangle (bottom right) can have different results as the next page will show. The center axis guide line is half the bottom length. The sides are drawn to it.

With point widths widely spaced, it is easy to see the procedure of connecting. However, finer, more effective results occur with closer point widths.
