Yep, "Practise Makes Perfect"!"

Perhaps this will help you see the first connections, and also, handling the curves. In the right loop, the direction (as subsequent from 1) moves downward. In the bottom left loop, the direction around it moves upwards.

So, here's the finished connections with spiraling, twisting straight lines that delight the eye. Having points 1/8" away makes the loops difficult to see when lines must overlap. It's a challenge, but worth it. Now, how about doing one of your own?
