With ungraded practice skills completed, it was time to put best understandings and efforts forward. Requirements were (1)a selection of themes---landscapes, animals, cityscapes, still lifes; (2)shapes must fit the large area provided and shown difference in sizing; (3)3 or more color values in each shape and (4) evaluation to be completed and attached to the back of the painting. The evaluation asked students to describe their works' most successful aspects, difficulties experienced, solutions applied, and their positive and negative opinions about working with pastels and pastel painting.
