CRITERIA EXPECTATIONS
As curriculum experiences advance in art levels, growth in accomplishment is anticipated. At the very beginning of the year the general expectations, class requirements, anticipated accomplishements and grading procedures are presented along with continued daily support for improvement.
Sometimes, examples of each level of grading was borrowed from another class to demonstate why the evaluations were received. This avoided the embarrassement of seeing one's own work pointedly displayed while clearly establishing the strong and weak areas of the design. It also clarifies the "words" printed in the posted Grade Criteria form.
The practice of written questions on the back of each format at this level occurred less frequently. It was replaced by small essay papers which provided opportunity for more complete expression of ideas. |
