CHANGEOVER INK DESIGN: Introduction to Art

for the Unit: Changeovers

A or A-

Shapes were placed well in background; good variety of shape sizes; textures are clear and well drawn; ink control very neat; excellent balance of black and white contrasts with clear, neat textures.

B+ B or B-

Most of the design is clean and neatly done; most shapes are presented well with good contours; uneven balance between black and white areas; ink control good to fair.

C+ or C

Some textures did not changeover as they should have; drawing of shapes good to fair; errors in placement; patterns are unclear--too many textures which present a confused appearance; control with ink needed.

C- or D

Incomplete work; insufficient shapes; changeover design rule not followed; too few textures; ink control needed.

In this experience these 3 questions were asked:

  • What is the purpose of the changeover lines?
  • How did you decide where to place your textures?
  • Why is it important not to fill all areas with textures?
