Ideas clever, original, large and well presented. Majority of ideas exciting and new, not repeated from side to side; drawing well done for 1st plans; background designs shown.

B+ B or B-

Good ideas in general; some repetition; drawings vary from very good to good, but need more precision; good possibilities for cube; some good background ideas.

C+ or C

Sketch ideas are good to fair; more personal changes needed in the ideas shown; drawings need to be larger; more design in shape backgrounds needed.

C- or D

Sketch ideas need to be stronger and more carefully done; take more time in planning; more effort needed; avoid hastily done work.

COLOR PLAN   FINISHED CUBE
A or A-

Interesting use of color; good plans for color balance; shapes connect well to all sides.

Excellent color balance of shapes & backgrounds; all sides very neatly done; well connected placements.

B+ B or B-

Plan good, but needs some change in unit designs; some texture areas very good.

Most sides have good placements and strong color/texture balance; pleasing overall design;

C+ or C

Plans show basic understanding; some well designed sides; too much white or solid areas; needs more variety.

Generally done well to acceptable with more good sides than not; craftsmanship good to fair.

C- or D

Redesign from original ideas not improved; shapes too small; too little carryover from side to side.

Assignment is acceptable; some improvement from 1st plan seen; needs much stronger designing.

  • Color, texture, line design, and arrangement were all important aspects for the cube. Which of these worked best for you?
  • What 3 aspects of this cube design required good "craftsmanship"?
