INK DRAWING: Textures (Art 2)

for the Unit: Ink Textures

A or A-

Invented and natural textures well drawn, ink application neat, sharp and a nice variety; design offered great areas for textural display. .

B+ B or B-

Very good textural applications; some could be more inventive; texture sizing/contouring might fit shapes better; some backgrounds too dominant; dark/light contrasts and "shading" fairly well done.

C+ or C

Textural applications need more variety; drawing of the textures could suggest perspective within the shapes by adjusting their sizes; general placements satisfactory.

C- or D

Insufficient invented/natural textures implemented; textural drawing very scattered/smudged; choose subjects that would offer more surface detailing.

COMPOSITION

A or A-

Drawing demonstrates interesting balance and movement; shapes often extend beyond the borders; backgrounds and integral part of the design; strong, delicate, rough or light textures complements subjects well.

B+ B or B-

Composition may have too much uniformity in shape sizes; focal point not emphasized; organization may be too centered lacking contrasting shapes for interest; line drawing could be improved.

C+ or C

General design satisfactory; some basic art elements demonstrated well; some texture applications appear scattered rather than an essential part of the forms/background; placement/sizes too small for the format.

C- or d

Some areas of composition demonstrate basic requirements; subject matter too simplified; shape placement too centered and small; needs more shapes and better balance/arrangements.
