Very careful placement of words; excellent variety of fonts selected; very good size contrasts and placement; ink calligraphy very well done, unusual grouping.

B+ B or B-

Generally very good lettering quality; some fonts clearer than others; interesting placement of words; good sizes.

C+ or C

Good lettering styles and execution; pen sizes might be more varied; word placements could have more variety.

C- or D

Some calligraphy fairly well done; more differences in fonts and sizes needed; Some inked words smeared and not corrected; word arrangement too common; some words missing.

INVENTED LETTERS

for the Unit: Creative Letter Design

A or A-

Very creative sketches and finished logos; some good and humorous; fine differences between line and solid letter areas; complementary textures that didn't overpower the letter shapes; simple, strong color enforcement.

B+ B or B-

Nice changes from sketches to finished work; mostly good organization between background and logo shapes; some had too much contrast and could have been simplified; color choices good.

C+ or C

Good work comes from good sketches and more were needed; shapes fit alloted size satisfactorily; more invented shape changes needed; color and textures good to acceptable.

C- or D

Letter styles too ordinary or already well known; rendering not done well or fitted into the designed area; background not in relation to logo shapes; more sketch ideas needed.

COMPLETED ASSEMBLY

for the Unit: Putting It Together

A delightful assembly of all 5 parts; all features done exceptionally well; pleasant arrangement; high total work quality with more difficult areas.

B+ B or B-

generally very good work in most areas; script or logo area might have been better; neat organization overall.

Features of each of the 5 requirements of different quality; all very acceptable standard of work; designs could be more neat and more imaginative.
