windowtoart "Foundations": 4-Way Ink Drawing Completed Works Drawing Choices
THE MORE THE MERRIERAnd with that bit of cheer, we began to explore possibilities that would give different results to one ink study. We started with a familiar practise: honing our texture inventions by creating new ones, and using them in our final results.
LET'S LOOK AT THE ASSIGNMENT--BIT BY BIT
Texture augments background and foreground spaces, and every artist should develop an undending exclycopedia of them. They are interpretive, linear or shape oriented visual surface renderings based upon limitless observation of objects and nature. Think fish eggs, hair, bones, knitting stitches, animal fur, fabric design, fences, shoe shapes, seasons, and so much more.

The first "4-Way" is arranged as puzzle pieces.
The added texture, the modified checkerboard design, is repeated in petals and background.
The 2nd one is gesture, accent line (thick and thin), color + varied textured areas and then bold line.
The last one has several textural variations, a simple contour and ends with a continuous line drawing. The enlargements will show these more clearly.
|The next section, Part 3 gives a choice for a concluding wrap-up to the 4-way drawing. Which one would you select? Do check it out!|
