This was the only composition that included black and "flapped" tissue. The mosaic-like application was a nice contrast against the larger shapes.

Here a pattern board was rubbed in a way that produced a different texture. String was used under and over paper and drawings followed a similar application.

Simple, flat tissue was chosen for shape definition and area division. Line texture was dominant by itself.

Tissue and construction paper overlaps kept color areas separate. Sometimes, it's just visually hard to permit "transparencies" to occur.

Evaluations in class demonstrated that some of our goals were achieved. Further developments would improve some understanding of elipses, shape placement, and color relationships along the way. This entire unit of several parts offered basic experience in design concepts and continued previous aspects in each successive one. The next and final part of the Design unit is Positive and Negative Space. Take a look!
