windowtoart "Mixed Media": Abstraction Part 3   With Watercolors    Intro     Mixed Media     Choices

1st Level students with little or no experience ably re-interpreted original drawings into new entities. Of special notice was that when completed, their modifications were not considered in any way inferior to the realistic beginning. That's growth, don't you think?

Unfortunately, photos of the pencil drawings do not show details of linear design, crosshatching or smooth tonal blends very well. Just use your imagination. All students with some coaxing, effected several color blends in the 2nd stage, and tempera painting was very much enjoyed as a first painting venture in the 3rd.
