FABRICS MAKE FABULOUS FORMS

Working with 3-dimensional materials is very exhilarating. Including fabrics makes its own excitement as hands bend, twist, fold, pinch and push it into reliefs which beg for attention. These pages will show 3 different interpretations, from simple to complex, all of which incorporate fabric in some manner. Ready to look?

This surrealistic approach has one looking deeply with wonder. A foiled figure leans against a wood textured wall. The back walled pencil drawing disappears behind a window opening to a water scene, and deftly scrolls into the foreground and lightly connects wall, floor and fabric. The soft, thin fabric transparantly wraps into and around the shapes forcing attention along its path.

Perhaps we're looking at a stage and we, the observers are ready to move into the play action.

The support for the collage is white mounting board. It's size is 22"X28", and the fabric overlaps the matt which encompasses the collage.
