  A 22"X28" masonite board was primed and layered with newsprint.

  Next, gesso was applied with a palette knife and pumpkin seeds were pressed and patterned into it and then removed. An adjacent area contains the patterned seeds themselves.

  Burlap was cut and pressed into the wet gesso following the slant of the seed patterns.

  Then four different fabrics--black velvet, printed cotton, corderoy and black leather were formed as desired.
