For an artist, vision is critical. It is the essence of image interpretation. MIXED MEDIA provides opportunities to develop new interpretations which effect the character and personality of those presented. Lets see a few examples.

A student practice skill to depict a variety of expressions was to interpret the SAME object in different media, redesigning each if desired. Below are examples of a banana--dynamic white on black, bright tissue collage, with the mystery of ink flows, pointillism, delicate reverse colored pencil, in ink and soft, wet pastels, strong pencil tones, free moving watercolors, or sharp edged collages. Each offers unique style and intensity. Try this simple exercise and enjoy the uniqueness of different media. The same object is just striking in each instance!
