  Each art media has distinctive qualities which effect a certain kind of visual impact. When 2 or more media are combined, each contributes a contrast which enhances the final composition with uniqueness and visual excitement.

  Each of the above illustrates a variety of watercolor combinations: large leaves with ink; wax resist butterfly; melted crayon bits flower; pastel city; and wax resist and ink jars--each like a different flavor of candy.
  Level 1 art students learned to tame the characteristic runs of watercolors and wet ink into some striking paintings. Bright color splashes, beads of white wax, and smokey transparent swirls can be seen in most of the work below. Look for an unusual idea of a "mirror" in one composition.
