ADVANCED ABSTRACTION: TEMPERA PAINTING
As art exerience increases, students are able to homogenize the many styles, techniques, procedures and processes they have learned, and to select certain methods of design for individual purposes. Third level students were asked to study a variety of painting styles, and to use some shape alterations that would suggest abstraction in any degree. All or part of the work could be modified by technique, or the entire composition could be one in which shapes may or may not relate to each other. Having experienced painting practices they were free to emphasize a particular style of painting or blend and texture as they desired. |
