![]() REFLECTIONS Students really got into the spirit of quality painting. This was evidenced by complexity of topics, personal experimentation and fulfillment of all requirements. Basics Part 4. They learned that preliminary sketches were just that, and development into new directions was not difficult to do. Basics Part 2. Many changed their minds and altered backgrounds and foregrounds with easy overlays. There is still much to learn about art concepts which effect genuine expertise in design, color, organization, technique,etc. However, the total experience of skill practices Basics Part 3 leading to summary interpretations provided basic time and opportunity. Everyone contributed sincere efforts in selecting something of interest and achieving the effects which best effected their intent. Of particular joy to me was that with the large Guide to Painting Sequence Posters visible throughout the entire summary painting period, (2 weeks), there was not one resemblance to the illustrations provided. Independence was abundant. In general, the purpose for students was achieved: to experience good processes and procedures now for better performances later. They're on their way. |
