(Note: "senet" is our equivilent of chess.)The story can most likely be found in your library. However, a quick check showed a resource that might be helpful: "Ancient Egypt" by Robert Nicholson and Claire Watts. The story and illustrations were enlarged on 22"X28" tagboard and displayed for everyone. We noted feet, hands (different for Re), animal heads, textures, borders, hieroglyphics, motion lines, patterns and colors ( which unfortunately, one-color line art does not allow). The essence of the paintings was clear: symbols and figures were the words telling all. From here, we moved on to the prime experience---a painting of our own. |
