In this beginning class, students enjoyed learning from each other, like how to use common textures differently or to insert collage materials. All enjoyed seeing the way a small diagram could be proportionally enlarged.

  It was not unusual for students to ask to use/design more than 3 letters, as the first 2 examples demonstrate. (Who can say "no" to doing more?)

  The addition of collage materials gave an opportunity in learning how to "fit" needed materials     into the background. The right image's use of fabric, felt, printed papers and colored opaque/transparent papers were preferred selections.

Grids can be different sizes in Part 3--and have a follow-up idea too!
